Dev Bhattacharya is the Managing Director for Aditya Birla Minacs, a subsidiary of Aditya Birla Nuvo and also serves as a member on the Board of Directors.

In his role as MD, Dev is responsible for Aditya Birla Minacs and its subsidiaries including overall strategic direction, performance, operations and execution. He is responsible to the Board of the Company.

Since joining the Aditya Birla Group in 1996 as Vice President, Corporate Strategy and Business Development, Dev has played a pivotal role in three acquisitions and two JVs that have significantly broadened the portfolio of the Group. He has also played a key role in defining Strategy, Mergers and Acquisition’s apart from being responsible for the Energy and Power businesses of the Group.

Dev has over 25 years experience encompassing Manufacturing, Financial, Software and Media industries. He has worked for several global companies including Tata Engineering, ILO, and Bankers Trust, in various consulting, strategic and executive roles. He’s also had a successful stint as an entrepreneur, management consultant and a media producer during his career.

Dev was the recipient of the Outstanding Leadership Award of the Aditya Birla Group in 2005.

In addition to his current responsibilities, Dev has worked with Action Aid, supported relief, rehabilitation efforts with local NGO’s in Mumbai and has helped rebuild schools in Orissa (State in India) after the super cyclone. Dev supports several social initiatives in India like Project Crayon, CRY and Ummeed. He is also a keen golfer.

Dev has earned a Bachelor of Technology degree in Mechanical Engineering from NIT, Rourkela and a Post-Graduate degree in Industrial Engineering from NITIE, Mumbai.
